Day 01: Bangalore

Arrive in Bangalore by flight and transfer to your Hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure

Day 02: Bangalore – Mysore (B)

This morning proceed for a city tour of Bangalore visiting the Vidhan Soudha, a magnificent building housing the State Legislature and Secretariat. It is built entirely of Bangalore granite in the Neo-Dravidian style. Stroll around the avenues to find some good sandalwood carvings and handicrafts to put you in memory of your tour to Deccan.

Later drive to Mysore enroute visiting Srirangapatnam 16 Kms from Mysore stand the ruins of Hyder Ali’s and Tipu sultan’s capital, from which they ruled much of Southern India during the 18th century.  In 1799, the British finally conquered them with the help of disgruntled local leaders.  Srirangapatnam was built on a long island in the Cauvery River.   The dungeon, where Tipu held a number of British officers has been preserved.  Inside the fortress walls there’s a mosque and the Sri Ranganathsway Temple One kilometer east of the fort, set in ornamental gardens is Tipu’s summer palace known as the Daria Daulat Bagh.

Day 03: Mysore (B)

This morning drive to Mysore. In the afternoon we take city tour of Mysore visiting the Maharaja’s Palace built in 1911-12. The palace harmoniously synthesizes the Hindu and the Saracenic styles of architecture with archways, domes, turrets, colonnades and sculptures, which are truly magnificent. Visit the art gallery and drive up to the 1062 m high Chamundi hill to see the Chamundeshwari temple with a panoramic view of Mysore. On your way back, see the 5 m high Nandi Bull carved out of solid rock in 1659.

This evening witness the famous 50 minute sound and light show at the magnificent Amba Vilasa Palace at Mysore Palace, Karnataka which starts with Hindu Mythology following by the founding of the Wadiyar Dynasty and the expansion of the Mysuru Kingdom under them. Just like the city Mysuru, this show retains a quaint charm that never fails to enchant.

Day 04: Mysore – Nagarhole National Park (B)

This morning we drive to Kabini Forest located in southern fringes of Nagarhole National Park. Kabini is one of the most beautiful wildlife destinations of Karnataka state. It lies 205 km away from Bangalore and 80 km away from Mysore. Kabini comprise the south-eastern part of the Nagarole National Park. Lying on the banks of Kabini River, it sprawls over 55 acres of forestland. Currently, it is considered as one of the must visit wildlife sanctuaries in India.

Day 05: Nagarhole National Park (B)

This early morning proceed for Jungle Safari in Nagarhole National Park. The habitat of Nagarahole National Park along with its rich diversity of wild animals and birds offer an unique experience of viewing life in the wild. Nagarhole is the largest stretch of protected forest in India, the formation of forest is dry scrub – moist deciduous with forest of rosewood, sandal, Oak, bamboo & teak. The park boosts a great variety of wildlife including Tigers, Leopards, Wild Dogs and Sloth Bears, Elephants, Gaurs (Bison), Sambars, Barking deer, Mouse deer, Langurs, Giant squirrels and a host of bird species are sighted very frequently by the asphalted and paved roads.

Day 06: Nagarhole National Park – Calicut (B)

This morning we drive to coastal city of Calicut. Transfer to your Hotel

Day 07: Calicut – Cochin (B)

This morning we drive to city of Cochin – the glittering ‘Queen of the Arabian Sea’ and the oldest European settlement in India, Here we’ll experience a vibrant mix of cultural influences that include the oldest church and the oldest synagogue in the country.

This evening enjoy the show of Kathakali, the famous dance drama of Kerala, characterised by grotesque gesticulations, amazing costumes and very extensive make-up.

Day 08: Cochin (B)

This morning you will be taken this morning for a half day city tour of Cochin, first visiting the older parts of the Fort Cochin area. This part of the city reflects an unusual blend of medieval Portuguese, Dutch and English country life grafted onto the tropical Malabar Coast. The 16th century ‘Mattancherry Palace’, also known as Dutch Palace, is a fascinating fort with elegant buildings and interesting collections from the Royal traditions of the region. The unique feature of Cochin is the unexpected and isolated Jewish community, whose origins date back to AD 52. They are self-contained and have their own “Synagogue”. The area around the Synagogue, known as ‘Jew Town’ is one of the main centres of spice trade.

Day 09: Cochin – Munnar (B)

Morning drive to Munnar, the highest town of Kerala with a cool, bracing climate exuding old-world charm and popular for extensive tea and cardamom plantations.

Day 10: Munnar (B)

Today visit a local Tea Museum and Tea Plantation Estate. Here local tea pickers will explain the importance of regional tea’s grown here. Enjoy the Tea Tasting!

Later enjoy a Nature Soft-Trek inside the Eravikulam National Park famed as the first and most famed national park of Kerala. Amongst other rare flora & fauna here, enjoy sighting Nilgiri Tahr- A world rare species of mountain goats found only here.

Day 11: Munnar – Alleppey (Houseboat) (B/L/D)

Today drive to Alleppey and join your traditional Kettuvallam Houseboat. Board your houseboat at mid-day for an exhilarating experience. As you sail down a maze of canals, you see villages, paddy fields, coconut palms, fishermen and local life. Meals and overnight are onboard.

Day 12: Houseboat – Marari (B)

Late morning, disembark at Alleppey jetty, also known as “Venice of the East” for its narrow canals and backwaters. Drive to Marari for beach stay

Day 13: Marari (B)

Day at leisure to explore beaches on your own

Day 14: Marari – Cochin (B)

Transfer to Cochin International Airport for your onward flight
